April updates…

Our April team meeting highlighted some news from several of our mission areas:

West Virginia World Servants trip (May 6-8): Please let one of the mission team members know if you’re interested in this trip or sign up on the bulletin board in the hall behind the sanctuary. This is a very flexible trip and reservations can be made up to the day before we leave.

CPC Mexico trip (June 27- July 3): Applications for this trip are due this Sunday, April 18th. Flight reservations will be made next week.

Back pack food mission: This is a new mission project to provide food for children at Case Avenue Elementary School which is modeled on a successful program between Grace Chapel and the Hermitage School District. We will partnering with Covenant Presbyterian Church. We will be meeting at the new Community Food Warehouse building (109 S. Sharpsville Avenue, Suite A) at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, April 20th to watch Grace Chapel pack their kids’ back packs. This demonstration should help us understand the process, time, and man power necessary for the project.

Shenango Valley Community Gardens: This group will be planting 2-3 gardens this year and will start work at the end of May. The church will be donating money for the topsoil. Look for the bulletin insert on Sunday, May 2nd or see Tom Amundsen if you’d like to be involved.
